Rafael Pena, MD

Dr. Rafael Pena is a board-certified cardiologist and electrophysiologist who treats heart rhythm disorders with advanced, minimally invasive procedures. His expertise includes pacemaker and defibrillator implantation, catheter ablation for arrhythmias, and device management.

Dr. Pena earned his medical degree from Javeriana University School of Medicine in Bogotá, Colombia. He completed his internal medicine residency and cardiology fellowship at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, followed by a fellowship in clinical cardiac electrophysiology at the Medical College of Virginia/Virginia Commonwealth University.

Before relocating to Florida, Dr. Pena practiced at The Arrhythmia Institute at Mercer Bucks Cardiology and held attending physician roles in both cardiology and emergency medicine. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and the Heart Rhythm Society and has contributed to research on device safety, advanced implantation techniques, and arrhythmia management after congenital heart disease repair. Fluent in Filipino/Tagalog, Dr. Pena is known for his approachable demeanor and thorough, patient-focused care.
