Professional BackgroundRachel Petrus, FNP-C, is a dedicated cardiology nurse practitioner with a strong commitment to improving patient outcomes and quality of life. She began her career as an intensive care nurse, gaining valuable experience in acute cardiac care that fueled her passion for cardiology.
At Idaho Heart Institute, Rachel collaborates closely with patients and the clinical team to provide comprehensive care, focusing on patient education, diagnosis, and individualized treatment plans. She is recognized for her compassionate approach and dedication to enhancing the lives of those living with heart disease.
In addition to her clinical work, Rachel has proudly served in the United States Navy since 2011, including a deployment to Afghanistan in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic. There, she provided critical care to military personnel and veterans, reinforcing her commitment to serving those who have served the country.
Outside of medicine, Rachel enjoys spending time with her family and engaging in outdoor activities that keep them active and connected to nature.
